Village School on road to Panguma

This school was in a small village on the road from Kenema to Panguma. It was here during this stop that a roof caught on fire and within minutes the roof was completely engulfed in flame. Pictures of this event are in this or my first blog. Susan and I were on our way to visit the Hospital in Panguma - a very well-run hospital run by Catholic Mission sister doctors. The hospital was perhaps the best in the country outside of Freetown. It was designed by a fellow Peace Corps volunteer named Warren Van Hoos who came from Tennessee.
