During the early years of its founding, Freetown, Sierra Leone became the haven for liberated slaves and the Cotton Tree became their gathering place for meetings and prayer. In the background - the Sierra Leone State House is where the president of Sierra Leone resides. [Freetown, Sierra Leone] For one month we lived in Freetown on Pademba Road (#77) with our host family with Mrs. Lottie Nelson-Williams our host 'mother'
