Outdoor cooking at Dama Road in Kenema

In this photo are Wuya (on right) and Salimatu (in green ). Taken in the backyard across from where we lived, Wuya has rice that they are all getting ready for supper. Wuya was the older wife of a local merchant names Pa Karankey. The younger wife was Salimatu who came from the Northern Province. Wuya was deaf but could read lips and make herself understood. Also in the picture is Moiyatu and young girl in the household who helped out with all the chores. This house was numbered #55 Dama Rd in those days.
