Vaama in Nongowa Chiefdom in Kenema District

Vaama Nongowa was a Mende village of about 30 people. Situated near the River Moa, it was reachable only by bush trail from our house. It was about 5 or 6 miles from us. Most of the people here were involved in rice growing, trapping, and making palm oil. It was here that Pa Sam and his wife Massa lived.
