Bush Road near Vaama (Nongowa)
Patrick Garlough (here pictured by a clump of bamboo) and I traveled many a bush road in Nongowa Chiefdom. These paths traversed areas many times not reachable by vehicle, and wound through terrain from village to village, by farms and to rivers. Patrick was my guide to the area, he was patient with my many questions, and asked for little in return but friendship. Bush roads were for the most part safe although you might come across an occasional Green Mamba, or a large somewhat angered chimpanzee, or even a rare gorilla.
