Typical public transport stopped by a remote village on the road to Kabala from Makeni. Transport was crowded and the roads were quite dusty during the dry season. In the back as many as 10 or 12 people would be packed in. In the front the driver and his choice few would sit a bit more comfortably. This picture was taken in March of 1970 on my trip headed first to Kabala, and the next day on the treacherous road from Kabala to Kurobonla. Photo © by Chad Finer |
