The River Moa near Vaama Nongowa

At the height of the rain season the River Moa overflowed its banks and was a furious torrent of currents. In the distance a dugout ferry canoe heads down stream transporting a passenger to a village across the river. This was taken from near the tiny village of Vaama. The river was about 6 miles by bush trail from our house. [click on picture to enlarge]
